What evidence shows that businesses are actually buying?
Last updated

Payment-derived adoption is stronger evidence of purchasing than downloads, trials or website traffic. Ramp’s October vendor pages provide a useful, bounded view: adoption among businesses purchasing software in its AEO category, rather than all US businesses or revenue market share. (ramp.com)
What does the October 2026 transaction-based snapshot show?
| Supplier | Adoption within Ramp’s AEO purchasing cohort | Reported year-on-year change | Source update |
|---|---|---|---|
| Profound | 53% | +14 percentage points | 15 October 2026. (ramp.com) |
| Peec AI | 19% | +8 percentage points | 15 October 2026. (ramp.com) |
| AirOps | 17% | −4 percentage points | 16 October 2026. (ramp.com) |
| Clearscope | 10% | −16 percentage points | 16 October 2026. (ramp.com) |
| Scrunch AI | 9% | Decline of less than 1 percentage point | 15 October 2026. (ramp.com) |
Ramp defines vendor adoption using purchases over the preceding 12 months. Its broader directory describes a dataset covering more than 85,000 American businesses; that is not the disclosed sample size for this specific AEO table. Businesses can purchase multiple vendors, so these percentages should not be treated as mutually exclusive shares. (ramp.com)
Important source inconsistency: the category page displays 1% adoption in its headline but less than 1% in its explanatory text. We therefore do not use that figure to extrapolate a national buyer count. Supplier coverage and category boundaries also limit what the table can say about the whole market. (ramp.com)
Buyer interpretation: these observations establish real purchasing activity within a defined payment dataset. They do not establish product quality, retention, implementation success or the percentage of US marketing budgets devoted to AEO.
What do suppliers disclose about revenue and customer volumes?
| Supplier disclosure | Date | What can reasonably be concluded |
|---|---|---|
| Peec AI reported more than $4 million ARR, 1,300+ brands and agencies onboarded, and 300+ customer additions per month | 18 November 2025 | Evidence of reported commercial traction; the announcement does not reconcile every onboarded organisation to a paid subscription. (peec.ai) |
| Peec AI’s pricing page states 3,500+ brands and agencies | Observed 16 October 2026 | A newer supplier-reported scale signal, not an audited paid-customer count. (peec.ai) |
| Profound reported 700+ enterprises | 24 February 2026 | A dated supplier-reported enterprise footprint. (tryprofound.com) |
| Profound reported 1,000+ enterprise brands | 15 September 2026 | A later scale disclosure; “enterprise brands” and “enterprises” are not necessarily identical counting units. (tryprofound.com) |
Do not add these counts to estimate unique buyers. Nor should changes in loosely defined customer labels be converted into precise growth rates. Current US revenue, paid-account reconciliation, churn and net revenue retention remain unverified in this research.
